"We all know..."

Writing for the morning wakers
Wind tearing up moonlit branches
In Florida, walk dazed through a mall
tonight for dinner, causeway-scape

Devendra Banhart's CD Niño Rojo (Young God Records, 2004) sounds great with its even, plain acoustic guitars. "Ay mamá, no hay que llorar..."

Write about less.

The sticker on CDs in Mexico City in 1999 that read El disco es cultura.

Caracas Notebook is now finished. In three sections, each with 12 to 25 poems. Written between 2001 and 2002. Each of the three sections (cantos?) is meant to be read as a different voice, a trio of speakers. Telenovela tedium and invention. Newspaper prose with minimal lines.

Came across a mix tape I made in 1992 (hadn't seen it since then) w/ Jungle Brothers, Last Poets, Stevie Wonder, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Brand New Heavies, Gang Starr, Grand Puba, Masta Ace, Jamalski, Kool G. Rap, Black Sheep, Ed O.G., Pharcyde, Main Source, De La Soul.
