En una escuela / Rafael Cadenas

At A School

The children’s hands
joined in celebrating poetry
formed a flower I brought home with me.

Are you present in this moment?
We let go, but the knots cling
to our neck though we suspend
time, god of fright.

José Balza tells me from the heart
of the West, in a patio in Salamanca:
the trip should be pleasant.
